What is Vacation Bible School? Take kids deep into an amazing undersea adventure where they’ll experience the ever-flowing, never-ending love of God. At Scuba VBS, kids will be immersed in the Word and discover what living water is really all about! The children have an opportunity to experience the joy of community among their peers while exploring their faith through song and dance, indoor and outdoor activities, and of course, a little snack.

What is FAST? FAST stands for Faith and Service Tour. Each day we start off with a Bible/Catholic Tradition Sound Bite and then go on a different community service field trip via school bus service. Some of the agencies we will visit: St. Joseph's Residence, St. Vincent de Paul, Catholic Charities, Brother Bill's and North Texas Food Bank where we will do a service project.

Please note that we’ve made some changes to the program ages. VBS is open for Pre-K 3 through 4th Grade and CTK FAST is open for 5th through 8th Grade.

Adult & High School volunteers are needed to assist both programs and truly make it “the week you don’t want to miss”.

Volunteer Requirements

Adult Volunteers:

Adult Volunteers must be 18 or older to serve. Doing so guarantees their children will have a spot in the programs. (Grandparents are welcome to volunteer, as well!) All adult volunteers must complete the Safe Environment requirements of the parish. After you register, you will be contacted if you have items to complete to be cleared. Please be diligent in completing your items as quickly as possible.

Youth Volunteers:

High School youth volunteers must have completed the Youth Family of Faith training. There is a training session scheduled for May 11 from 10am-12pm in the Youth Room. To register for the training or to check whether or not you need to complete the training, please contact cdooley@ctkdallas.org.

All VBS Volunteers:

All VBS & CTK FAST adult & High School Volunteers are asked to attend an orientation on June 9th following the 12:30pm Mass, in the Community Center. At this time, you will receive more specific instruction on your volunteer role, the schedule for the week, and pick up your t-shirts.

Notes for Younger Children:

·      If child's birthday is after December 31, 2019, (Potty trained 3 year olds through 4 and 5 months) they have to have a parent volunteer on campus everyday.

·      If child's birthday is before December 31, 2019, they can be involved without a parent on campus.

·      The nursery is open to the children of volunteers ONLY.

·      The nursery is for children 1 year old+.

·      If child is not potty-trained, they must be in the nursery.

·      Children younger than 1 year old can be “baby worn” with parents, if parent feels capable of fulfilling volunteer responsibilities while doing so.
