When you Give
at Christ the King

Tithing, from a biblical, historical perspective, meant giving 10% of the fruits of one’s labor to the community, often in the form of goods or personal services.

This tradition carries forth in the present day where members of a Church Community make a commitment to share their “time, talent and treasure” with others, within or outside their community, through involvement in Church ministries, sharing their talents in church/school organizations and contributing financially to the overall church activities. This total stewardship represents a clearer understanding of tithing in today’s world.

Based on the principle that one can never “outdo God” with generosity, contributing financially via “tithing” enables our Christ the King Church to help others. Through each person’s generosity, as a community, the Church is able to support many programs and ministries and outreach to those less fortunate.

By making this commitment to giving a portion of one’s work, labors and efforts to the community, “tithing” becomes a priority, not an afterthought, as it makes us more aware of the needs of others and the blessings God has bestowed upon us.
