Our staff at Christ the King is driven by the mission of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Under the guidance of our Pastor, the staff at Christ the King strives to act as the hands and feet of the Parish in accordance with the Holy Spirit. As coworkers in the vineyard, we work hard to provide an encounter with the Lord and to help all feel like they belong to the parish.

Father Anthony "Fr. Tony" Lackland

When Pope St. John Paul II was elected to his pontificate, my Catholic aunt, Louise said that he was a “very holy man.” Though I was not at that time Catholic myself, her statement intrigued and inspired me. I became a Roman Catholic in 1982 at Ft. Jackson in South Carolina while serving in the United States Army and Pope St. John Paul II has not ceased inspiring me, especially with the exhortation to “be not afraid.”

After military service, I studied voice and piano performance and received a Bachelor of Music from the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. I went abroad as a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar to Germany, where I received a diploma in the German Language Program from Sprachinstitut in Tübingen, going on to further studies of German at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität and musicology at Staatliche Hochschule für Musik, both in Freiburg im Breisgau. After my time in Germany, I returned to the USA and had the great pleasure of being Director of Music and Music Educator at Prince of Peace Catholic Community before discerning that God had something else in mind for me.

I answered the call to the priesthood and entered seminary studies at the Theological College of the National Seminary of the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. I was ordained to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ on June 3, 2006. My first assignment was Parochial Vicar at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Richardson, Texas followed by the position of Chaplain and Director of the Catholic Campus Ministry at SMU (and Priest in Residence here at Christ the King Catholic Church) and concurrently functioning in the role of Associate Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Dallas.

After completing Executive Education at the Cox School of Business at SMU, receiving certificates in both Management and Leadership, in July of 2013, I was assigned as Pastor to the All Saints Catholic Community in Dallas. There I continued my pursuit of leadership formation, receiving a diploma from Stagen Leadership Academy in Dallas, taking part in an intensive 52-Week Integral Leadership Program. In July of 2017, I accepted an assignment to Holy Trinity Seminary in Irving, Texas, taking on the role of Vice-Rector and Director of Student Life.

In 2020, I was named Pastor of Christ the King, which has been a kind of coming home. It is a vibrant community with deep faith and a National Blue Ribbon School as well. I am so excited to be here. Words cannot express it. I also feel a deep responsibility to foster the community life of our parish, to see us serving with even greater fervor, deepening our spirituality, and calling on our wider community to join us in the worship of the true God, Christ, our King. Let us approach him boldly as we walk the road of faith together. I make the words of Pope St. John Paul II my own: “be not afraid.”

Father Kevin Kolker

I was born in July of 1993 to Mike and Cathy Kolker. I grew up with my three older siblings in Coppell, Texas, where we attended St. Ann Catholic Parish. I went to school at St. Luke in Irving, where I received the Sacraments of Initiation and first became aware that “Christ Jesus has made me His own” (Phil 3:12).

I graduated from St. Luke in 2007. Then I learned about being a man for others and doing all things for the greater glory of God (AMDG) at Jesuit Dallas. After graduating in 2011 I set out for Aggieland, where I obtained degrees in Mathematics and Philosophy in 2015. After college I worked in Houston as a software developer and volunteered in a local youth group. As joyful as my life was there, I knew there was something more that the Lord wanted from me and for me.

Despite my many efforts to run from the Lord’s call, He patiently persisted in inviting me to become a priest. I entered formation in the Spring of 2017 for a small community in Kansas City. After 6 months there, it became clear that God wanted me to be a diocesan priest. I then completed my philosophy studies at Holy Trinity Seminary in Dallas before going to Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans to study theology from 2018-2023. After writing on Pope Leo XIII’s political theology and Vatican II’s declaration on religious liberty, I obtained a Master of Arts in Theological Studies.

I was ordained a priest of Jesus Christ on May 20th, 2023 alongside 7 other men here in the Diocese of Dallas. What a joy it is to be one of God’s fellow workers (1 Cor 3:9)!

Deacon John Paul Kelly

I am a cradle Catholic and have long-lived in and loved the Church. I was ordained to the permanent diaconate in 1992. The permanent diaconate is a call to a ministry of the Altar, Word, and Charity. My ministry in the permanent diaconate has led me to be involved in service at the Altar with many fine priests, both in the proclamation of the Gospel and in preaching the word of God. It has also allowed me to serve in almost every aspect of parish life. Since my ordination in 1992, I have participated at the parish level in the RCIA as a director, the marriage ministry, baptismal ministry, continuing education director, grief ministry, funeral ministry, and ministry to the poor. At the diocesan level, the Bishop(s) of the Diocese of Dallas, happily, have asked me to teach courses on the Liturgy of the Hours, the Documents of Vatican II, and Homiletics in the formation program for the permanent diaconate. But I have had no greater joy in the permanent diaconate than in the ministries in which I participate at Christ the King—the baptismal ministry, the funeral ministry, ministry to the elderly, and service at the Altar.

My post ordination formation was accomplished through Creighton University. I received from it a Master's of Arts in Ministry. The Ignatian spirit pervades my spirituality.

To live as a permanent deacon is to live with one foot in the secular world and one foot in the religious world. Before my retirement, I practiced law for many years and count many friends, colleagues, and clients from those years.

Of course, the inspiration for and the animation of any service to the Church lies, in great part, in the relationships that God brings into our lives. My wife, Janet, to whom I was married in 1980, and our two wonderful children continue to grace and inspire my life.

Deacon Jake Schroepfer

I am truly blessed to serve at Christ the King Catholic Church (CTK). This community has been a special part of our family since 1996. Our beautiful church has been the sacred space where our family’s most special moments have taken place, from baptisms to weddings. Our three sons graduated from Christ the King School (CKS) and my wife Molly was a beloved third grade teacher at CKS for 14 years. Throughout those years Molly and I were active CKS volunteers.

I was ordained to the permanent diaconate in 2013 and was assigned by then-Bishop Kevin Farrell, now Cardinal Kevin Farrell, to serve at CTK. My original assignment also included serving at SMU Catholic Campus Ministry. I have also had the honor of serving as an Episcopal Master of Ceremonies in the Diocese of Dallas from 2014 to 2016. From 2017 to 2021 I served as President of John Paul II High School in Plano, TX.

Molly and I are originally from St. Paul, MN. I attended high school at St. Thomas Academy and I received my bachelor of science degree from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN. In 2018, I received my Master’s in Theological Studies from the University of Dallas, and in 2020 I completed a certificate program in Advanced Homiletics from the John S. Marten Program in Homiletics and Liturgics, University of Notre Dame.

In addition to our three sons, we have two beautiful daughters-in-law and four young grandchildren, Myles, Mary, Ellie and Liv.

Deacon Richard Grant

My name is Richard Grant. One of the two deacons that serves Christ the King, and I was born in Tulsa, OK - the seventh of eight kids. With four boys and four girls in the span of 10 years let’s just say my childhood was never lacking. My mother was a former Benedictine novice, so there was always some level of discipline. I attended Georgetown University and majored in finance with a minor in theology. The older I get the more I wish that those degrees were reversed. I received an MBA at Columbia University and have been in the financial services most of my career. Most of my reading time is spent in books about spirituality, philosophy, and history. I met Fr. Thomas Merton when I was 7 years old at Gethsemani Abbey in KY where my uncle is a Trappist monk now for 70 years. I also read Fr. Richard Rohr who started Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, NM. I love CTK and am very grateful to be able to serve there. I feel it is a vibrant community that has a lot to offer lifelong parishioners and newcomers as well. We are in solid stewardship under Fr. Tony there is a beautiful collaborative effort to meet the needs of the local flock. God bless you all.

Administrative Staff

Laura Ninesling

Growing up in Miami, both of my parents worked for St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with my father being the parish secretary. I never would have guessed that one day I would follow in his footsteps. After working secretarial and administrative jobs at various churches in North Texas for over two decades, I found a home here at Christ the King in August of 2020. While coming on board in the middle of a pandemic definitely posed its challenges, I found the staff and church body to be welcoming and warm, encouraging me to grow into my position with confidence. From creating the weekly bulletin and maintaining the calendar to assisting Father Tony, the staff, and parishioners, being the parish secretary has not only expanded my knowledge of the Church, but I’ve also grown to really love the community I work with.

When not at work, I can be found spending time with my husband (whom I’ve been married to for 46 years) as well as my five children and seven grandchildren – the loves of my life—and of course, my pup Zoe, the best dog ever.

Andrew Petiprin

Grace and peace to everyone at Christ the King! My name is Andrew Petiprin, and I am delighted to be joining Fr. Tony’s staff as the Kevin Cardinal Farrell Director of Community Life. For the past three years I have served as Fellow of Popular Culture at the Word on Fire Institute in Irving, and before that I worked at the Catholic Diocese of Nashville. My wife Amber and our two children, Alex and Aimee, live in Plano. All four of us came into full communion with the Catholic Church on January 1, 2019, and prior to that I was a clergyman in the Episcopal Church. I have graduate degrees from Oxford University and Yale University.

As Director of Community Life, I look forward to supporting the pastor’s vision in fostering an authentically Catholic community at Christ the King through oversight and coordination of parish ministry efforts, in collaboration with church personnel and volunteers. I will serve as a liaison between the pastor and major ministries of the parish, provide training and spiritual guidance for ministry leaders, and help enact the pastor’s strategic goals for the parish.

I am eager to get to know you all and offer my gifts to your extraordinary community!

Aurelia Corbitt

“It is not work, if you love your job” and I love my job as CTK Executive Communications Director, serving six, years under the tutelage of Monsignor Zimmerman and now, this past year, with Father Lackland. CTK has become my second home. I consider it an honor, pleasure and privilege, “a gift from God,” to work daily with our dedicated, staff and fine, parishioners. Armed with a Journalism-Advertising/Public Relations degree from The University of Georgia, I have a track record of volunteerism in the Coral Gables/Miami Community, as I chaired and co-chaired major events; president of civic and social organizations; implemented via The Chamber of Commerce a welcoming program for all “Senior Executives” moving to Miami; held various, positions with The Junior League of Miami, Tri Delta Alums and actively, involved with our daughter, Camilla’s, schools/activities. This volunteerism coupled with my interesting, work, related experiences, including being selected for both television and radio commercials, have all “dovetailed” into making this job “the perfect fit for me.” I wear many hats here at CTK, as I call and warmly, welcome all of our newly, registered, parishioners (175 families in 2020 and climbing in 2021), sending the contact, information for their expressed, volunteer interests and informing them of our methods of tithing at CTK-Online Banking System and Church Envelopes. As a result of these efforts, our Online Banking System has tripled per month! My motto: “I am here to help you in any way that I possibly can and simply a phone call away.” Graciousness and hospitality are the hallmarks of the deep south from which I hail! Additionally, I update all of our Sacramental Records for CTK and Perkins Chapel-SMU, write notes of gratitude for contributions, etc. and last but not least, our Christmas Cards. It is my firm belief that we are “put on this earth to help one another and to lift one another’s spirits.” I endeavor to bring this philosophy every day to Christ The King. May God bless you one and all!

Preston Thompson

I am very happy to be a part of this parish as from a very young age, the importance of the Catholic faith was instilled in me. I attended Catholic School in Nashville, Tennessee from Kindergarten through High school and soon after, continued my Catholic Education at the University of Dallas. Likewise, I graduated from University of Dallas in 2021 with a degree in Philosophy and Letters.

Over my years in Dallas, I volunteered at Saint Paul the Apostle in Richardson with youth ministry, at Saint Thomas Aquinas with RCIA, at Catholic Charities with their immigration services, and with the Saint Joseph’s residence. Further, during my summers back home, I spent my days helping at the Parish offices of Saint Rose of Lima and Saint John Vianney in the Diocese of Nashville.

What I look forward to most while working at Christ the King is empowering individuals to grow in their faith and develop a deeper relationship with Christ. While the secular world tends to be complacent with mediocrity in their lives, at Christ the King we strive for excellence and presenting our very best to the Lord. “Be Perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48) With this, I hope to foster a deeper, more connected community here at Christ the King as we march together towards Christ.

Mike Coffey

With an impressive 35-year career at AT&T, where he held various leadership positions in operations, finance, and strategic planning, Mike brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. Within our parish, Mike and his wife take on the significant responsibility of leading the marriage ministry. Their dedication and passion for nurturing healthy relationships align perfectly with our mission of fostering a vibrant and supportive community. We are delighted to welcome Mike Coffey and look forward to the positive impact he will undoubtedly make.

Ken Hodes

I am so excited about the new opportunities and challenges here at Christ the King. I grew up in Overland Park, Kansas as a cradle Catholic, going to Catholic school through high school. I then graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Personnel Administration. Then followed a career in sales and management, mostly in the power tool and hardware industry. I then followed a calling to serve the Church and became the Facility Director at St Gabriel. I used my knowledge of maintenance and repair to help the parish. My wife Dawn and I moved to Frisco 28 years ago to settle in. We raised our daughter Taylor there and she is now preparing to graduate from KU as well with an Aerospace Engineering degree. I look forward to using my experience to help Father Tony and Christ the King.

Katie Aguilar

Katie Aguilar joins the CTK staff with gratitude for the opportunity to serve its community as a Pastoral Associate. When it comes to her relationship with Jesus and understanding of the Church, Katie believes that the love of God is intended for all people and the Church is to be a vehicle of that love for the world. After completing Bachelor's Degrees in Theology and Catechetics from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Katie served as a Youth and Young Adult Ministry Leader at St. Louis Parish in the Archdiocese of Baltimore for five years. She later completed a Masters in Church Ministries from the Ecumenical Institute of Baltimore where she explored pastoral practices within Church contexts and dialogues within Christian Theology.

"No matter where my 'Church career' brings me, I remain rooted in the reality that initially compelled me to dedicate my life to the Gospel: that Jesus' love is life-changing and life-giving. I approach my role at Christ the King with humility to be entering a new parish family and with enthusiasm for the work that is to come. I am confident that the Holy Spirit has big things in store!"

A Maryland native, Katie bid farewell to the East Coast in order to serve the Diocese of Dallas in the Office of Youth, Young Adult, and Campus Ministries, where she has been for the past three and a half years. Katie met her husband, Carlos, upon moving to Texas. They married in July 2020 and live in Plano. She received her MBA in 2022, with a concentration in Family Enterprises and Entrepreneurship from LSU Shreveport, and hopes to contribute an understanding of leadership and innovation to her work in the Church.

Charlotte Dooley

I have loved serving Christ the King for the past 19 years, especially working with youth and their parents. I coordinate Faith Formation for the middle school and high school students preparing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation.

I grew up in Virginia and attended the College of William and Mary, where I studied economics. I moved to Dallas and worked in banking. After marrying Kirk and starting our family, I went through the RCIA program at Christ the King in 1995-96, with Cathy Hare, She was an amazing mentor who immediately got me involved in starting the first Vacation Bible Camp for our parish.

Over the years, I worked with Kirk in his various business enterprises. I have been involved in our children's schools and their faith formation. I have been blessed with many friends through the St. Anne's Society and the Altar Society. I have the joy of working closely with our church's ushers, Eucharistic Ministers and altar servers, as well as overseeing middle school and high school community service projects. In 2012, I started the Christ the King Faith and Service Tour (CTK FAST) for fourth graders through seventh graders to introduce them to one of the Catholic Church's missions, serving others.

While teaching Faith Formation, I continue to grow in my faith through what I learn from families in our church community.

Josh Berkovsky

Josh Berkovsky is the Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry at Christ the King. He hopes to bring a new approach to the two ministries to stir a passion for the Catholic faith in each person.

For undergraduate studies, Josh went to the University of Dallas for a Bachelor of Arts in Theology, which allowed him to explore interests of Biblical, Moral, and Systematic Theology. Currently, he is enrolled at University of St. Thomas and is pursuing his MA in Theology. His long-term goal is to get his PhD in Theology to teach at the collegiate level, write, and spread his love for the faith. Despite the different types of Theology that he has studied, his favorite and primary focus is Biblical Theology. One subject that has always fascinated him within Sacred Scripture is the Eucharist, specifically, how Christ teaches the doctrine of His own body, blood, soul, and divinity in the Gospels, in addition to the Old Testament foreshadowing of the revered sacrament. Growing up, Josh was always volunteering with his parish at high school events, Confirmation retreats, and mission trips, where he loved and still loves to give talks about the Catholic faith. He hopes to impact CTK by networking all the Catholic young adult organizations with each other and by expanding the high school ministry, not just with more students but also by finding passionate adults who desire to serve the youth community.

Outside of ministry, you can probably find him either studying for his master’s degree or two-stepping at Red River on the weekend.

Sacramental Formation

Mike and Jody Coffey

Our names are Mike and Jody Coffey, and we are delighted to lead the marriage ministry at Christ the King Catholic Church. We have been blessed to meet and work with so many couples at Christ the King over the last twelve years. Helping engaged couples grow further in their relationship, seeing them celebrate their love through the Sacrament of Marriage, and watching them years later bringing their children to Mass makes the marriage ministry the perfect way for us to engage in the church community and keep our own relationship strong.

Prior to moving to Dallas in 2009, Jody worked in the faith formation program at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Antonio, which served over 1,200 children. Before working in the church, Jody worked as a paralegal for several law firms in Washington, D.C., Tulsa, and Oklahoma City.

In 2018, Mike retired after a 34-year career in the telecommunications industry, where he held a variety of positions in operations, engineering, finance, human resources, marketing and strategic planning. In his last position, Mike served as the senior vice president of Global Delivery and Assurance at AT&T. Other executive roles at the company included leading Investor Relations, running the Compensation, Benefits and Policy organization in Human Resources, and various CFO roles supporting multi-billion-dollar business units.

We enjoy spending time with our three adult children, two of which live in Dallas and the other living in New York.

Sister Mary Paul

Because of the sacrifice of her parents to send their four children to Catholic schools, Sister attended St. Paul the Apostle in Richardson for elementary and Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas. During her years at Texas Tech, her Catholic faith became a matter of the heart and not just of the intellect, or to make a good grade in religion class. The seed of a religious vocation was planted in those college years. She wanted to make a real difference in the world, and do whatever she could to help facilitate whatever had happened to her faith life, happen to other Catholics. Sister Mary Paul’s relationship with Jesus and His Church was a reality, not just a part of her life, but the whole of it. She is happy to be a member of The Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, and lives with her Sisters in Grand Prairie at their convent and Nazareth Retreat Center.

Sister Mary Paul earned a Master in Pastoral Ministry degree from the School of Ministry at the University of Dallas. She has served the local Church in RCIA ministry for the past 20 years, at Immaculate Conception and All Saints parishes. She looks forward to journeying with the parishioners of Christ the King as together all of us welcome seekers and encourage them to embrace the beauty of our Catholic faith.

Jordan Peek

I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Director of Music and Organist at Christ the King. My name is Jordan Peek, and I am a native Texan from DeKalb. Music has always played an integral role in my life, thanks to my upbringing in a musical family and my deep involvement in music ministry.

My educational journey led me to Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where I studied organ. Following that, I pursued a graduate degree in organ and sacred music at the University of Texas at Austin. For the past eleven years, I have had the honor of serving as the Director of Music at All Saints Catholic Church in Far North Dallas. The dedication and commitment of the musicians and the congregation always inspired me, and I am grateful for the experiences and musical growth I achieved. Before my tenure at All Saints, I served as the organist at St. William Catholic Church in Round Rock, Texas.

In December of 2016, I received the sacrament of Confirmation from Father Tony Lackland, a significant milestone in my faith journey. It deepened my commitment to my Catholic faith and further fueled my desire to contribute to the Church through music. I am incredibly excited to join the Christ the King community and embark on this new chapter. I recognize the rich history of exceptional liturgical music at this parish, and I am humbled to have the opportunity to contribute to its legacy. I am truly honored to serve as your Director of Music and Organist, and I am eager to witness the many blessings and opportunities that lie ahead.

Albert Bellefeuille

It is my pleasure to share my God-given musical gifts in support of the wonderful music program offered at Christ the King. Like most children, my first encounter with the organ was at my childhood home parish – St. Felicitas in San Leandro, California – and I began organ lessons in the sixth grade. I also took private lessons in harpsichord and viola da gamba, and learned several instruments in middle school and high school orchestra and concert band (where I was drum major my senior year).

I hold degrees in organ and harpsichord performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, located about half an hour from Cleveland, Ohio. While my specialty is in historically-informed performance practice, my training covers repertory from the Middle Ages to the present day, an invaluable skillset for working with the CTK Singers and the King’s Choristers. My studies continue at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where I am completing my PhD dissertation in musicology. Prior to joining the team at Christ the King, I served as organist and choir director for several congregations of different denominations, providing me with skills and insights into various worship styles and at different skill levels. I am excited for what lay ahead here at Christ the King!
